A personal perspective
Looking back at it today, I am no longer completely satisfied with the result of Deadly Heart. But at the time, I was incredibly proud of this film. It was the first short film in which I took on both the directing and cinematography myself. I had to figure out many things along the way and learned a great deal through the process. That is why Deadly Heart is less a film I would make the same way today, and more an important part of my development as a filmmaker. My approach and the possibilities available to me have changed considerably since then. Today, I work much more professionally, with a more focused approach and a very different technical and cinematic standard. Nevertheless, I still look back on the film with fondness. It shows where I started — and how far I have come since then.
